I had a post a good while back about things I was adding to my 500 scrambler it was a 99 500 scrambler. With a kn airfilter hpd exhaust a hsp clutch kit and alot of little things( if you wanna pic just ask). And i was adding a 42mm carb and aaen roller clutch. All i can say i wow. It lost a little low end but it gain alot of mid end power which it lack it also gained some top. In my opinion its alot better of a trail machine for aggresive riding the only downfall is that when going up hills slow you can not give it any more gas or over you will go.
