Anyone disconnect/remove their sway bar?
I have disconnected my sway bar on the Hawkeye and it rides alot better and smoother like it should although it it will have more body roll when you turn it real sharp but other than that it works fine.

Anyone disconnect/remove their sway bar?
Okay, I removed the sway bar from my Sportsman and it rides like a Cadillac now. But like Parker said, body roll or sway is very noticeable now. If you're a sport-oriented rider, you might not want to do this. With the sway bar on, my rear preload adjustment was at the softest and it sill had a very firm ride, and I go 220 lbs. Now with the sway bar removed, the shocks have much more freedom to move independent of the other. I'll crank it up to #3 and that should make it just about perfect.
As soon as I can get to camp where the Hawkeye is right now, I'm going to remove the sway bar from it. I'm sure it will be just as Parker says and I'm expecting a huge improvement in the rear end as far as softening things up.
For those who might be wondering, the removal of the bar on my Sportsman was very straightforward and quick. There is no tension on the bar or bolts so you won't have to worry about things popping off and injuring you, and installation will be simple if you decide to put things back to normal. Simply use an open end wrench on the vertical connector to keep it from spinning while you crank the bolts on the top and bottom mounts loose. They were assembled with locktite but come off without a problem.
