Last weekend while riding my '05 700efi up north it suddenly got "very" loud. I installed the sp800 exhaust header/pipe on it shortly after it was new(2 years old w/2,000 miles). I found the exhaust pipe broken clean off at the weld just behind the collector where the two header pipes come together. I limped it the 1/2 mile back to camp, patched it with clamps and stove pipe, and attempted to trail ride a little with my boys. The exhaust stayed quit, but about 10 miles later it started sputtering and the battery symbol was flashing in the speedo display. The cover over the stator seemed really hot, but then again i never paid attention to it before. I limped it again back as close to the cabin as I could before it died. Than brought the truck to get it. After it cooled off, it started okey, but battery symbol is still on. Has anyone had Stator or battery problems???? I am going out now to charge/test the battery and stator.
