Default What should I do?

Got a decision to make and hope to get information from you in my decision.
Son has an 05 trailblazer that has been loosing power and not starting when hot, I cleaned the carb and adjusted the floots thinking that was it but not so I took a compression check and when cold cranking from starter I'm just about pulling 90lbs. I'm thinking that the ring might be cracked but dont know until I pull it apart. Hear is my question should I put it back togetheir stock or get a big bore kit and jucie it a little of cource I dont know the problem yet and keep in mind this bike hase at most 80 hours of time on it. Hey thanks in advance for any help!

I would say if you have the money and the mechanical skills go for the bore kit. May as well get as much power as you can if you have to fix it anyway.

Is it oiling right? I've seen the oil pump go bad in the 2 strokes, they try to seize up, a service manual would tell you how to test it.

Maybe check the exhaust power valve if it has one.

You know now that I think about it I changed from Polaris oil to Ams oil for the injector only because it was easier to buy for me. Do you think this has anything to do?

when i did mine the rings were worn so the end gap was to large, but the cylinder
i.d. was in spec. I went & did a bore job anyway (.5mm oversize wiseco piston &
rings) u may just have a stuck ring. I had that happen to me using amsoil 2 stroke
racing oil, it did not burn off all the way & a sticky film made the rings stick to the
piston ring lands enough too bring the compression down. I am using amsoil interceptor
2 stroke oil now hoping it will not happen again, if it does I am all done with amsoil
in my 250 tb.

sudsy,
Try to put a little oil in the cylinder and then check the compression. Depending on how much of ring is broken, compression should go up if there is small break or scored cylinder. If it doesn't change, piston and cylinder ok. Maybe valves or gasket?
