SPORTSMAN70003 - where did you get the recevier for the hitch ... i've been thinking about building one, but can't find a precut jacket.

It came of a rack stand we got over at the garage. I think I have a couple more, I would just have to dig around and find them.

thanks, i guess i should just look around more.

I removed my rear cargo box, made brackets to install a rear winch in its place. Then I wired in a MV7 front/rear rocker switch. This controls which winch my mini rocker operates, the front or back depending on the position of the MV7 rocker.

I also put 2 utility lights in the rear. I mounted them to the fairlead short bolts. Wired them into the worklights.

Lock N Ride boxes not big eough, so I took a BIG Tamarack box,and 4 cam operated straps, cut off one hook on each strap, fed the box handle through the eyelet of hook just cut off. I can strap the box down in about 25 secs and unstrap just as fast. I have rode several times, totaling about 200 miles with it never coming loose. I take it off everytime it gets washed.

I put ranger springs on the back to lift the quad, and put the stock rears on the front for same reason. I have about 13.5" ground clearance with stock tires.

Instigater -

Nice mods, did you need to do anything
special for your quad to host 2 winches (Front/Rear)
with wiring or an extra battery? Any other
mod'in (like mounts, etc) with removing your rear cargo
box to accomodatie rear winch?

me and my brother big bored his 2000 srambler used a piston out of a suzuki LT 500 ie QUADZILLA. but the piston was too tall from the center of the wrist pin to the top so first we had to machine of the bottom of the skirt then build a shim .270" thick to lift the clyinder up to make it work then machine the intake holes in the piston.

Rtikwad, Thanks. I only use one battery. I can only use one winch at a time, so second battery not needed. I did alot of research for the rear winch. I made sure to use the exact holes that the multi mount kit would use. I did not drill new holes. I did not want to weaken the frame. It sits very nicely out of the way. I like that it doesn't stick out passed the bumper. No damage to it, should I get rear ended. It is not too far back as to affect the cable angle. The cable will still go very wide, without rubbing anything.

These mods have been so succesfull there is a web page about them.

I have all of them except the trail BOOM BOX.

Check them out here quadovator

I've been riding with Floodrunner since 1998 so I know they work.

At work I have access to a full machine shop so I had some custom aluminum spacers made for the front lift and a rear spring spacer.
