How long does it normally take????
#1
I am just looking to compare my experience with some others.....On August 30th, I put my 05 700 in the shop because the fuel guage was blinking. It took them until the week of September 11th to even look at the bike. They ordered one part...that part was found to be okay. So I just talked to them again today and they said that they just ordered another part and it should be ready by next Thursday (October 12). Should it take a month and a half to get the bike serviced???? What is the normal turn around at shops??? Do you all think the time delay may be because I did not buy the bike from them??? Any suggestions?

I'd put up with a blinking gauge before I went without my ATV for six weeks. As far as not buying the bike there, if you were getting warranty work done, they might be a little upset if you didn't buy from them. Your bike's not still on warranty is it?

the bike is still under warranty. I bought it in Tenn. to save about 1200 dollars. So, I guess I am at the mercy of the service shop/ dealer in my area. But six weeks is a little excessive for a seemingly minor problem.

sounds like your getting screwed over. it doesnt take that long to get parts from polaris. i ordered a cv joint and it was in 2 or 3 days.

My fuel guage on my blue 450 did not light up from day one however I bought mine about two hours away also ,....and told the dealer right away about the problem by phone... ....So I told him I would get it fixed with the first oil change and service(at 20 hours). I took the two 450's there in the morning and picked them up at noon. Serviced both bikes and fixed the fuel guage. I guess I can't have any issues with that!!!!!!Thanks.................caper............ ....

It may well be that the dealer has many vehicles backed up for service. My local dealer is that way. I would call it poor management. He should hire more repair people, get more space, etc. The more those riders have their vehicles out on the trail, the more they'll break things--which keeps the ball rolling.
I've always gotten service within several days, but then I'm a real sweet guy.
