Default 06 scrambler question

hello all i am fairly new to the atv scene i just got a scrambler 500 after taking the hood off i noticed there are two connectors left open they are coming of of the head lights one has 3 yellow wires and the other has 3 green wires what are these for?

Today after riding for about a hr non stop i notice a couple of drops of coolant coming out and now that i turned off the atv the level is over max when it was not before should i be concerned.

I have only had it for 2 weeks now and have less than 10 hrs on it if that makes a difference.

one last thing is i cant fill up my tank when i try it leaks out the front somewhere so there for the most gas i can get in it is 3/4 well atleast according to the guage.

sorry for all these questions please be patient with me .

THEM EXTRA WIRE ARE FOR ADDITIONAL ACCESORIES...coolant coming out of it should be the coolant leveling out and should cease to drip................though keep your eye on correct coolant level when cold.................bout the gasoline coming out from the front somewhere...........hmm..probably the fuel vent line...............thats odd...................it can be disconnected and might need connecting...............inspect and check it out................

Default 06 scrambler question

do not know for what accesories the extra plug wires are for..............but there are different types of winches for the 500 that go up front in that area...........so it can be for that............as for the vent line...............its connected to the fuel tank..to access that and to see where that leak is coming from.....take the plastic off...............are you sure your mechanical fuel gage does not get stuck at 3/4 full tank huh.........?...........when you fill your tank to the rim of the filler neck......is it leaking and coming out the bottom............or is it leaking when parked after riding............if leaking when parked after riding.................turn your fuel valve off.........................and then when your ready ride again turn fuel valve on..........thats normal..................as where to get accesories..there is many many many many places............here at atvconnections.com there are many many many links that will take you to dealers that specialize in accesories for your 500.....................also ebay....................do search on net................places are endless..............as for pricing...............all of them sell at msrp..............though you will find deals by being at the right website at the right time.....................by the way....you have more hours on your 500 than i do on mine.............ive been stuck at home every weekend cause the house is being remodeled and i need to stick around with the wife and select accesories for the kitchen.....bathrooms.............etc etc etc etc etc..........

if i remember right, those two lines, the green and the yellow are for extra lights? i think that one is lowbeam and one is highbeam. a test light will tell you what is what.

Default 06 scrambler question

well this is how it goes after i ride on my way home i stop by the gas station and fill up to the rim maybe a lil less i leave the fuel valve always on on first time it leaked on to my trailer from somewhere second time it indicated full no leaks but the nexted day read between the 3/4 and full. Is this due to me not turning off the valve and if so how should i do it turn off after riding and during filling and turn on during riding only?

sorry for the dumb questions?

I think the extra wires are for the speedo. I hooked up a speedo to my Scram. It is a nice unit, not only speed but a trip comp. as well, it shows miles, hours (run time) and trip miles. Install time 30 - 45 min

Default 06 scrambler question

On my 02 scrammy if I fill the gas all the way to the top, gas will run down the
vent line, down the steering shaft tube, on to the frame cross piece ,then
on the ground. I can go to about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the neck & be
ok. the gas guage will read alittle over 3/4 full. The guage float has to be all
the way the top to read full. It is just the way it is made. hope this helps. &
my 02 has been very reliable, 225 trouble free hours great bike!!!!!
