Default Traded in the 800 for the MV

I have been having serious issues with this 800. The dealer made me a one time offer, I couldn't refuse. I wanted like for like. He had an '06 800 Browning, he would have traded me, if I ponied up 3g's. No thanks. He had a new MV7 that I took almost even trade. I got to bring both quads home, so I could remove all my extras, except rear winch mod. It has to stay, but I can swap out the MV7 2500 winch for my 3.0 xt on my 800. So I'll have the same 3000 lb winch on the front that I am used to and I get to start over on the 2500 lb 1 year warranty on the rear. My buddy is going to take my brushguard and rear bumper. I will miss the big 800, but I absolutely wanted a different quad. This thing is the devil He told me I could have any of the other ones(Grizzly 700, Brute Force 750, King Quad) for even trade, but I still like the Polaris brand. I hope I didn't make a mistake. How many times do you get smacked in the face before you realize, wow that hurts? Hopefully, all will be well. I miss the duals and bragging rights, but I missed alot of riding this year too. I just want to go through the woods, with my buddies!

What I am giving up:

about 60cc's
EFI-response
wheelies
heated grips/thumb
26" stock tires vs 25" tires now
front storage box
less people to relate certain issues with
bragging rights

What I am gaining:

extra 5 gals of fuel storage
Carb. (has some good points)
100lbs
run flat tires
NASTY stock bumpers and fender protection
recoil starter
FRESH start

There may be more, these are the things that I could think of right away!

All in all, I am happy again. I am not looking forward to removing and or swapping over all the stuff, but I am willing to do it for a fresh start!

He even threw in the GPS that is supposed to come with the Browning Edition, wow I didn't even ask. He just offered it up. Someone will get screwed when the last Browning sells, won't be me, that is all that matters.

Oh yeah, he is going to pay for all fees to switch my extended warranty and service plan to the MV7. I am all smiles again!

instigater what problems exactly did you have with the 800? i have been running mine for about 2 months now and have over 500km on the bike with no problems other than not being able to wipe the smile off my face. any tips on what i should look for would be helpfull. sorry about your luck though, i have over 2500km on my 700 and no major issues to speak of.

I have had problems that do not necesarily pertain to the 800. I have just had issues. None of which are first year model problems. I honestly think that there is something wrong with that serial number, It doesn't work. As for what problems, I had hub bolts break, low beam headlights fall out, water pump mech seal, belt shread, engine is now smokin' badly after they did the water pump. It has just been none stop. I have had it 1 year this month, there are 319 miles on it, and 39.4 hrs. Some here, and even my dealer feel, I MUST be abusing it. I can tell you this, I ride with a Grizz most of the time, he does the same trails, his is 3 yrs old, mine breaks. Even if I did just run the hell out of it, Come on, this many problems. I only ride once a month, and none between Dec. and April(trails closed). I have riden this thing 7 times and it broke 3. That is a good aveerage, if I were a baseball player. I missed 1/2 of my summer this year, because it was in the shop.

It is just like playing the lottery, Now that I've given up on that number, someone else will probably hit it big with it. All I know is, I am tired of having 12G's tied up and no faith that I can ride 50 miles at a time! I still like Polaris! Why, I don't know. I just still have faith that they are the best. I just feel that maybe my serial number was defective.

It is a bitter sweet, that you guys have no problems, I am jealous and happy for you at the same time. Good luck, and I just hope this MV doesn't turn out to be a turd too!

Thanks a bunch. I am sure the power will be notiible, but I was surprised at the power on the test ride. I feel retty good about the move. It is easy for me to dwell on the things that I am losing. I reallly do like 8.75 gals of on board fuel and the pull start killer! For those of you that wonder about modding your 800 to a pull start, donot be worried about the compression. This thing is pretty easy, considerin what you are yanking on!

Anyway, I WILL miss the 800, but if I kept it, I would not have faith in it. Tough love? Yeah, you could say that! Or, maybe tough luck. Either way I do have a bitter taste right now towards the situation. I just want to trade my bitter for better!

Instigater, Warsaw is about 1.5 hours northeast of Columbus. It is a little dinky town of 500. It is actually called the village of warsaw, but I love living out in the country. Lots of places to ride with my friends.
