YAMAHA OUT OF DUEL
#1
The list of companies whose CEOs are willing to back up claims of their ATV toughness has narrowed by one. Polaris received official word yesterday that Yamaha CEO Takashi Kajikawa has declined to compete in The Duel.
On a related note, it seems other ATV companies are following Yamaha's lead as an article published in Brandweek magazine quotes Arctic Cat marketing communications director John Tranby as saying, "We're obviously not going to attend [The Duel]." Polaris will wait for an offical response from Arctic Cat before formally reporting on their intention to bow out.

I'd be surprised if any of them show up at all. Basically they are saying screw you to Polaris and thier stupid attempt to get everyone to pay for their marketing.
And anyway here's a picture of the Yamaha CEO, he has to be at least late 60s if not older:

BFD, this is supposed to be about the ATV's not the CEO's.
This Tiller guy is a numnut! If A/C follows suit I wouldn't be surprised if they all do. Honda doesn't even have an ATV that can honestly compete, there goes #1 and #2, I have my serious doubts about Suzuki too. That just leaves BRP and Kawasaki. Whats the point then?
This was a retarded idea.

I get the point about believing in you product. I do think that the invitation should have gone to any one rider that the manufacturer of each quad picks. I don't know Tiller, but just by looking at him, he looks like a country boy that has a BIG Dodge and a gun safe full of toys. He obviously knows how to ride. The Japs just now how to make money. At first, I liked his idea, but now looking back, it IS stupid. He clearly can outride the other guys, even if Tiller was put on a different make of ATV that he has never riden!
