secondary clutch spring setting

Can anyone tell me what I can expect by changing my sec. clutch setting from factory setting of 2-2 to a setting of 3-2 ? should I stay with factory setting ? please help !

i would guess differnt spring tension which makes differnt shift out rates. not sure if it will make it slower or faster and quicker or slower off the line. only played w/ sleds in the clutching but should be same princelable.

I'd stay with 2-2, you'll change backshifting by changing the spring positions. I think there's one stiffer setting than 2-2 (2-1 maybe)and the rest would be slower which I don't think you want. It will feel flat on a decel/accel if the backshift is to slow....

i would guess w/ only a 400 you wouldnt want to change too much in the seconadry as it doesnt really have alot of power and i beleave you would looses alot more then you would gain.if anything a better bottom end take off maybe but you sure dont want to try to increase your top end as you will really struggle out of the hole. just a thought.

1-3 would be the softest setting and you would have very poor backshift, not good. Here are the chart settings from the manual starting with the stiffest position.
helix------- moveable shieve
2--------------1
2--------------2
1--------------1
2--------------3
1--------------2
1--------------3
You can play around with it but with the stock spring your best settings are the 2-2 or 2-1.....

Thanks these # s are what I needed. I plan on going with a white primary spring but, stay stock rear . I will adjust ther rear to 2-1 . What do you think ?
is the 1 st. # (above) the # in the ramp or the pulley
thanks this is a big help !

The helix(ramp) is the first number, it only has two postions for the spring. The shieve has three adjustment holes. Mark the clutch halves before you take it apart so you can be sure to get it back together correctly. The moveable shieve needs to be rotated 120 degrees ccw before you press the helix down and install the snapring on assembly....

I have it back together I didn't mark anything But, all went back together ok . My buttons were wore out . I don't know why or how but, they were. The way the splines on the ramp are, the ramp will only go on 1 way
