Default ECM question?

well......the ecm receives signals from sensors............the ecm does not deliver or supply power........

Default ECM question?

it receives information..........................like the temperature of the cooling of the motor.................if temperature reaches a predetermined temperature the ecm allows power to operate the cooling fan............the gate opens ...............then when ecm receives signals that the temperature is below a predetermined temperature it stops sending power to the cooling fans.......................the gate closes..................

Default ECM question?

thanks for the reply. But I'm hopeing it also has something to do with the ignition/VDO power. Does it also send signals to the ignition?, It seems i have no ignition power/VDO and after taping on the ECM i get ignition power and my VDO lights up. Like I said when i turn the ignition to on, with a test light i can find power going into the ECM but I can't find any power coming out of it.

Default ECM question?

THE SYSMTOMS YOU ARE GIVING ARE OF A BAD GROUND...............OR BAD POWER CONNECTION SOMEWHERE...................HOW ABOUT THE STARTER SELENOID HUH..................? I'D START TAPPING AND MOVING ELECTRICAL PARTS AROUND AND THE WIRES AROUND AND AT THE SAME TIME TRYING TO START IT UNTIL I ABSOLUTELY NEW THAT IS NOT THE CASE..............AS FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH..........................MAYBE THATS THE FAULT....................BUT THE IGNITION SWITCH DOES NOT WORK FROM SIGNALS COMING FROM THE ECM......................................START FROM THE POWER SOURCE (BATTERRY) CHECK ALL POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE LEADS............TAP ON ALL ELECTRICAL PARTS..............PULL ON WIRES LIGHTLY TO CONFIRM PROPER CONNECTION.....................HOT WIRE THE SWITCH.......BYPASS IT...................SEE IF IT STARTS...........THAT WAY..........WHAT ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL THROTTLE....IF THATS MAL ADJUSTED IT'LL KILL THE MOTOR.............SHUT IT OFF................

Default ECM question?

Thanks man but I have jumped the solinoid for the starter and it will turn over but it seems like the engine isn't getting fuel ( also will not pull start either). As for the ETC there isn't much to it and can't really see anything wrong with it. I never use my engine run switch and have tested it when the ATV gets power and seems to work fine. I'm stuck, running out of ideas.

Default ECM question?

Are you talking about the sure power module?

If it is like most it will send a 5 volt reference voltage to the sensors and check the amount of voltage that returns. The changing resistance in the sensor will vary the amount of returning voltage and this will tell the ECM what the sensor is reading.

Also depends on how many wires are on the sensors. If there is only one wire the ecm is not sending voltage, just reading it. If two or more wires then it is most likely sending voltage.

Kinda hard to say for sure without looking at a wiring schematic.

Default ECM question?

keep it simple ...................all motors need spark and fuel.................you are not getting one of them.............forget about ecm's.........................sensors............. ................
