Follow what Polaris recommends ... they pay alot of people, alot of money to figure out how to make these engines last.

Hi guys: A collegue at work who just bought a AC500 sent me this link on break in. It's really interesting and supports the "ride it like you stole it" theory...

I e-mailed that guy twice with no response.
My question was,
If i put on 200 miles already with factory breakin oil then mobil1 0-40, Should I drain it and dump in some regular stuf and run it to get a better ring seel.
Like I said, I got no reply from the guy...
Now I got a ton of great trouble free miles...

I wonder if the "break-in" is one size fit all.....
could the break-in recommendations have come from the assumption of things as:
You are not only breaking in the engine, so what may be a good break-in for the engine may not be good for the quad overall....(clutch, brakes, cables, suspention.......and on and on....)
I don't think the info posted for the break-in are accurate for every part on the quad, but are prolly true for the engine...my 2 cents
