If anyone has ordered these or installed them please let us know how they work. Also, anyone who has installed the MV7 front springs or the Ranger ones on an 05-06 spt let us know how they worked, the ease of install etc

Thanks for the link. I see Cob has them but not yet installed them. I have been debating on getting either the EPI or MV7 front springs for my 800. Other than EPI directly is there an EPI dealer online with a better price? And does anyone know where to get MV7 springs for less than the $93 a piece that I keep running into?

I have the EPI HD springs but haven't installed them because I can't get the proper tools. The instruction sheet for the spring adjusters doesn't mention any tools, just a more involved installation procedure. I could probably use their instructions to install my own springs. Hmmm......

XL, I have the MV7 fronts on my 06 700EFI. The reason I went with them was thier higher spring rate. From what I could find out the EPI springs are rated at a straight 120 lb rating whereas the MV7 springs are progresive from like 77 to 170lbs or something like that. I figured the EPIs would be stiffer initially which might hurt performance in slow technical stuff and wouldn't be as stiff at high speed as the MV7 springs would. If I was going to keep the snow plow or alot of extra weight on the front most of the time and wasn't doing high speed trail riding I probably would have went with the EPIs. The MV7s have served me well for what I do though. I may put a set of the adjusters on just to increase the preload during snowplowing and have the best of both worlds. The springs are easy to install and it can be done without a spring compressor. Remove the front cargo box; Remove the nuts from the tops of the struts. Jack up the machine using a floor jack under the center of the front end which will allow the strut to lower so the springs can be removed. As you disassemble note the order and position of the washers and spacers you remove for ease of reassembly. I would do one side completely before starting on the other so you can refer to it it you need to. Hope this helps.

The EPI springs I bought are rated at 77/132. I hope to get them installed this month.

Thanks Fireslayer and Sheepdog. I went ahead and ordered the EPI springs for the front. As Sheepdog said they are 77/132 progressive. Fireslayer, I think you nailed it on the head regarding the use of the MV7 spring with plow weight up front, etc. v. the lower max rate EPI for those who don't have the larger additional weight up front. Makes sense to me. Sheepdog, thanks for the pics--always helpful.
