scrambler 4*4 problems

when i leave my scrambler in 2 wheel and spin the tires in snow eventually one or both of the front wheels engage HARD!! my dealer said it was prob. the washers with the 3 tabs on them inside the hub.. if they had grooves in them they needed to be replaced. i checked them and thay are fine..what could the problem be now?? thanks

I too had this happen on my 2000 Scram 500, I was on an icy patch screwing around and all of a sudden WHAM!, I stopped and looked, not good. I shattered the left front U joint, snapped the inner yoke and broke the tie rod. My dealer fixed it all under warrenty, but he could not give an explanation. Heres what I think happens, when you are spinning the rear tires very fast without moving the oil in the hub creates enough drag to turn the sprag clutch and then it engages.

man if polaris cant make a better set up that could solve those problems with the 4 wheel drive there will be one less polaris and another honda in my stable!!! my dealer also said that there is some kind of adjustment with the magnetic setup..? he said they could be set too close together causing it to engage..we will see!
