Default Differance between 250 and 400 2000 Xplorer

Are there any differances between the 250 and 400 2000 4x4 Xplorers, besides engine size and cooling.

also, im rebuilding a 400 2-stroke out of my scrambler and....this is a copy of a post from another forum.

Into my lap hath fallen a 2000 250cc Xplorer, for 500 clams. I've ridden it lightly due to a bad drive sprocket that was popping alot because of 3 missing teeth. But it goes Forward in high and low, and backs up. Starts on the first pull. It's alittle rusty but i can clean'er up good. Now to the question at hand.

When i rebuild my engine from my scrambler, can i put it on the Xplorer with all the liquid cooling and swap the 250 over to the scrambler and turn it into a trailblazer for my wife. I ANYONE CAN HELP, WELL YALL KNOW YALL'S MY DAWGS RIGHT!

I'm about to pull the trigger on this thing

Also, he had 25" in the rear and 26" up front would that cause the 4x4 to always be engaged when the bike is moving with the 4wd button on?

Peace out Y'all!
Jay

I might finally get my Scrambler with 4x4 and low range!

my 400 scrammy engine in a xplorer. 290 lbs the 250 wont move me on the 4x4 and ill put the 250 into the scrammy make it a trailblazer for my wife or a spare quad.

there is no reason with that 250 and all the sprockets fixed that the thing will not move you on it even being 290lbs they do make some mods that are easy and will give you definate h.p increase, pipe and clutch, it just seems like a ton of work to swap motors, or just let your wife drive it.

but if i put the 400 on the xplorer i'll have about the same bike as your sportman 400 but with Consentric drive. I'll keep the 250 on untill the 400 is rebuilt
