Ceramic Coated Pipe

if you do a search onthis you'll see most of them do it for the hotter riding twins to help w/ the massive heat it puts out. i havent done mine yet, but going to if i keep this bike. you might get a little perforcemance out of it but not alot.

Let?s put it this way, it won?t hurt your performance and will most likely help it but don?t expect to feel the difference, unless you?re doing the feeling with the inside of your right leg. The pipe runs cooler. This is a plus for performance and comfort and the plastic parts it comes close to. I?m happy I did mine.

Floodrunner-
Where did you get yours coated, I have a '05 700 EFI, it hasn't melted the plastic yet, and I don't want it to! How much did it cost? Did you just get the header coated or the header and the muffler?
Thanks for the info

My pipe and heat shields were coated by Classic Coatings in Sheboygan WI. I chose them because they're close to me geographically. Unfortunately I can't recommend them. They were more expensive than others I'd considered (around $180 after they quoted me less), they "lost" my pipe for two days and the coating was already peeling off one of my heat shields when I unpacked the return shipment.
If I were to do it again I'd use Moore Power, somewhere in Nebraska I think. Do a web search and you can probably find them.

Yeah, just the header pipe and shield (upgraded to the new single heat shield now that I think about it). I'm running an Aaen single-can and didn?t have that coated. If you can't find Moore Power let me know, I probably have the address somewhere.

Found them, thanks. What temperature rating should these be coated to, they have 1300 degrees and 2000 degrees. Mine like yours is camo, so I don't want the bright and shiny chrome finish, kind of defeats the purpose of having a camo atv, doesn't it!
Thanks for your help.

1300 is plenty, and as I understand it this is the more durable and less expensive of the two choices. If you call Moore they'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Mine was done in flat black.
Your wellcome. Merry Christmas to all!
