Default Cooling Fan failure/overheating

I'm having a similar problem on my 06 500HO. Fan doesn't kick on. Is it the same procedure on the sportsman to check the fan?

Default Cooling Fan failure/overheating

I just bought a 96 scrammy a coulpe of months ago and I haven't had the fan come on yet. I've been a little worried that it might not work so I tried bridging the two connectors on the back of the sensor and my fan came on, so does mean that the fan motor works but the sensor might be bad? Does anyone know at what temp the fans supposed to kick?
Thanks

check the wire that plugs into the head of the motor and make sure it is not disconected.if thats connected than it is the switch in the radiator.

Turned out to just be a dirty connector, my buddy never ever cleans his quad

found a place to by a Spal motor for Polaris Sportsman 500. Same size, holes match up, sealed. Found him on Ebay. Do a search on user ID. His user ID is univpart. It costs $79.95 delivered. Much better than the $211 that the dealer wants.

Hi I read your post about a fan motor that you bought off of Ebay. Was it a while ago that you got this because I couldn't find anything for the sportsman 500. I have a 97 sp 500. Do you have a part #?
Thanks

he does not have anything for sale on Ebay right now but I emailed him to see if he has anymore fans. My auction number on the Ebay. The Spal fan part #30100597. The fan is the exact same fan except for the connector which I had to cut off my old fan and put on new. Other that that everything is the same. If you go to Ebay and in the search field type in the auction number---- 300068057932 it will pull it up. Hope this helps.
