I got to pick what i wanted for xmas and i ordered a high compression pistion for my 500 scrambler so it will bump the compression up to 11:1, But i will have to run 92 or better gas but hey i guess ill get over that. And i got a question i have a 42mm carb on and im running a 250 main jet in it and it was wanting to take the air box off and run a water proof pre filter or would water still get in.

And what is everyone else getting for xmas

As far as water splashing, I don't think it would bother, but I wouldn't drive the quad through water deep enough so that the filter would be submersed. I have a 00TBlazer and have a clamp-on K&N filter with outer-wear(have yet to install it), and am thinking of a way to hook a big piece of PVC pipe to the frame to protect the filter with out restricting airflow, just as added insurance against high-speed mud puddles.

Mine's the universal clamp-on(with an angled neck), and it has big hose clamp to secure the rubber boot right on to the carbureutor. I dunno about the scrambler, but mine's got a short boot from the carb to the airbox, and it goes right were the boot is(of course, you hafta remove your airbox)

I feel your excitement as well. I may order myself a set of 190's w/ Razr's all around. We'll wait and see.

oH,

Dont "X" Christ out of Christmas.

Just food for thought.

Hey, are you my twin?!? If so, you must be a handsome little devil!! I'm planning on the razrs and .190 rims myself, from what I've read on here, they seem to be a great performing tire!! Since my old lady won't buy me a pipe and clutch kit for christmas, I'm gonna hafta wait for income tax time for all that good stuff.

Yep, I am going to try the razr's over the holeshots just to be different. I am going w/ 22" fronts and 20" rears. I do have 4x4 but I use it when I "have to". I dont go out looking for reasons to use 4x4. Actually the only reason I bought the 400 4x4 was b/c it was on sale for the same $$ as the 2x4.

About Rims, Are all the new ITP 190's the
"T-9's", or is this a seperate wheel all to itself? I know the old ITP 190's did not have the reinforced rolled edge like the Douglas's do. I am in a delima over which wheel to run. The ITP "T-9's" seem to be as of the same quality as the Douglas 190's

About the airbox situation, splash issues and such, I believe that WB's has a scrambler airbox that is a little more tiddy than the stock setup. Its worth a look.
