Default Brake reservoir leaking

For the last year my brake reservoir has been leaking. Causing all the paint to bubble on the reservoir and leaking onto the handle bars. Tried re-seating the lid but still seems to leak.

Has anyone else had this problem? Will a new lid or gasket fix it? Or do I need to replace the reservoir? Maybe a common problem with 2005s?

And does anyone know if I can use just normal automotive brake fluid in my sportsman?

mine leaked and I applied blue RTV silicon sealant on the cover and no problems or leaks(be careful and u only need a very small bead) u dont want to make a mess and get into master cyl. Some will disagree with silicon but it works and i have no problems.
