... and I found out that the same mechanic that troubleshot my 800 (engine burning oil), had passed away on Sat., at 31 or 33 yrs old(not sure)! Pancrease(spelling?) problems. I tell you what, first thing I did when I got home, was kiss the wife. That hit home hard for me, makes me wonder why I worry so much about stupid things. He left a wife and 6 kids. Do yourselves a favor, tell her you love her twice tonight, and hold on to your kids an extra 2 seconds next time you hug them. You never know,.......... you just never know!

Years ago I lost a friend/co-worker while I was a service manager at a Yamaha/Polaris Dealership. I actually took over his job as service manger because he wanted to go back to working on the machines instead of dealing with the customers. After a tune-up/inspection on a Virago1100 he took his last ride to make sure of his repairs. Five minutes later this guy's daughter came running into the building frantically asking for her dad because she just drove by a motorcycle/vehicle accident. My heart just stopped as my General Manager and I went running out the door. Half a mile up the road my friend/co-worker was already gone. A 70 some year old man thought the light coming towards him in the opposite lane was just a sun glare. He turned left into a driveway giving my friend no time to re-act. He was killed instantly. His name was Gary and he was taken away from a wife and two daughters.
I then became the Bike Inspection Mechanic/Service Manager. I have ridden and inspected many bikes since this but I still have never owned my own bike. That is still the most horrific site I've ever experienced. One that I will never forget for many reasons.
GOD SPEED.
