What is the top end speed on a polaris predator 500?

 

Mine had a pipe and a k&n drop in stock gearing with a my garmin gps i was between 76 and 78 mph.

 

I juss recently purchased an 06 a few months ago n they said stock it does 78....n thas the tld

 

the forum average speed is between 78 and 81

 

my 03 would hit rev limit at 74 when it was stock after I got a vortex cdi it would do a little faster never clock it i would say about 80mph. I wish i would have kept the predator.

 

yeh its alot of fun n all juss kinda big n bulky but u get used to it

 

its not really big and bulky at all, if you want big and bulky ride a DS650.

 

Depends on who you ask..most Yamaha guys say that what ever there top speed is ..it isnt as fast as theirs..and the Honda guys say well there fast but there not Red...Zuki guys still say not as fast as our zilla's..ask any Pred owner and they say fast..with stock long travel suspension and magura cables ..douglas wheels..and fox shocks..dollar for dollar they cant be beat..

I own a 05 tld and am running a 15th front and stock 38 (?) sprocket in the rear..believe me its fasssst

 

well put heatseeker You'll never get a honda yamaha suzuiki guy to admit that a predeator is faster on top.The pred may not be top dog off the line but NO other quad is going to come from behind to win at the end. Most drags are won by the guy who gets the jump off the line . You don't need to be the frist with the pred It's crazy in the mid to top. I also love the fact when you race a honda ,yama ,or zuki guy they love to cut the race short.
I race with a few honda guys and they never let the race go to far as soon as i start to pass them they stop and say they won. But give me a quarter mile and things are different.They lose. It's funny how they all say there quads are the fastest but I've ridden all of the new quads and i believe the pred is the fastest on the top.Not only that they can handle the speed,where as the rest need big time work to handle like a pred does stock.

 

I can admitt that the Predators I ride with could catch my 660 on top end (before I got the carbs dialed in). Never got the chance to race them on top end afterwards so I don't really know. I have noticed that the 700 can reel them in on top though.
