Wel i finally got my body guard kit on. I really like the looks of it. Im still a little skeptical about the plastic, but when i asked for replacement pieces for the corners that broke, they sent me ALL the plastic for the front and back!LOL.... Pictures are under My Page or the Gallery.

Man, exactly HOW you did that?? I broke of both side plastics of my rear bumper, searched high and low for replacements (online and dealers) with no luck. I had to do a homemade repair for which I'm less than pleased, seeing it's a goddamned $150.00 bumper that's just 4 months old. How much did you pay?

As a suggestion, for the rear bumper's side plastics, take out the 2 bolts and add 2 black or black painted washers. I can't believe how easily they snap off if you grab a tree trunk or branch, and that will prevent leaving the piece in the field if this happens. I had this happen to me with both the right and left plastics, and because luckily there was someone riding behind me that noticed, I was able to pick them up.

Any info would be appreciated.

I broke mine the day i got them. I took them back to the dealer and complained and they ordered me ALL new plastic for free. Only thing i did this time was i drilled into the plastic corners on the back and into my body and put plastic plugs, like what is all over our sprotsman's, and it works great! Look at my profile and you will see the plugs on the back, i will upload it now for you.

Thanks man, im loving your 800 stealth. I had the opportunity to buy one at $7900. It was either that or the 2006 700 for $6000. Both were brand new with 0 miles. I thought the 700 was a better deal, but man that stealth sure does look sweet.

slimjonesy, if you have the chance, can you please ask your dealer how much would they charge you for a set of both the right and left plastics for the rear bumper?
I would gladly pay for them, plus shipping and something extra for your troubles.... My dealer seem to be uninterested in getting those for me, and I don't have another dealer nearby for a couple hundred miles.
Yesterday, and even with the washer installed, I managed to break off the left side plastic of the rear bumper YET AGAIN.
As much as I love how they look, I would not recommend them because they weren't made to last. At least the plastic part dont. And they scratch real easy.

By the way, I just saw the pic on the plug you drilled to the rear plastic to keep the side of the bumper in place. It looks fine.
Just one thing: Do you think you won't have any problems with it? I mean, the 2 plastics are from different parts, and seeing the way we ride, there's bound to be movement between the parts and not always in the same direction....
Is the hole you drilled on the bike's plastic slightly larger to allow for the riding movement? I would be cautious as it could crack the bike's rear plastic, the bumper's side plastic or both if there's too much pressure involved.

I have to go to my dealer this weekend, i will see how much and if he can get them for me. The plug i put in is the same black push plugs that are used on all sportsman's to hold the body together. Look under your seat you will see them EVERYWHERE. They are pretty cheap, so if i did torque the back bumper in any way im sure the plug will give way before the body or the cheap *** plastic Polaris give me with these awesome looking bumpers.

And yes i agree also about them not lasting long. As far as the bumper itself, im sure it will hold up just fine, but the plastic is going to break sooner than later. I'd like to kick the idiot who designed 4x4, rugged ,heavy duty, steel guards, with plastic accents. They should have just put some frilly little flowers on it while they were at it.

OK im done with my review on the junk i bought......lol

All jokes aside,I really do like the look and thats the only reason i'm not sending them back for a refund.

I will check for you and see what i can do. I'm sure they are no more than like $200 a piece............................LOL just kidding.
