I have run aaen products and they do a good job.On your 400 (I had an older 425) I got a good gain from changing the primary spring to a Polaris white and an Aaen blue secondary spring.

thats funny i asked heelclicker if i could get my monney back if i was not satisfied.. he said no.. but epi also said we will not return a installed item...i believe a epi will better benifit a 400 single cyl eng than any other kit... just my 2 cents .. i also believe a h/c will out performe on the bigger twins.. i feel that a 400 needs more tuneing to get up to par, jet kit, k&n ,exaust, over rev cdi box, even a ported head if i get that ambitious.. its there it just needs to be tuned and tweaked.. i think the key to a 400 is rpms, all though i could just be a dummy.. POLARIS THE WAY OUT!!!!

I can tell you from experiance that the 400aka 425 just needs some minor clutch work(no need for a kit) a K&N filter and a good flowing exhaust and it will run with any of them.
I personally dont care for EPI kits. They have a few good springs to choose from.
HeelClicker is a very god set up but takes time to dial in.
Aaens kits are ok if you NEED the helex and springs as is HPD.Hotseat is good too but I dont like the way they set up the weights and the helex they recomend.
No complaints on Dalton Industreis other than they are a bit pricey.
Actually the BEST thing anyone can do with a non EFI is put in a TEAM roller secondary set up from HPD for their machine and go with a spring and weight change to get the wanted power range.
