Default sportsman 500 X2 H.O. Bumper help

Help I'm looking for a place to get a rear bumper for my X2. It was made with the dump bed but no rear bumper its a hassle when you have to lift the rear end and no where to grab. Any Suggestions?

From what I have been reading on here you have to make the rear bumper. I have not seen or heard of a company making one for it. I know it seems really disappointing. I have been looking at the X2 for a little while now and have been researching everything and watching all the posts for it. I am sure the guys that have made them will speak up shortly. Good luck.

I was hoping not to make my own, I probably could make one but it sure wouldnt look good. My X2 has been good to me I have taken it places where most ATV's would never make it and I give it a good beating around home too using it as a utility vehicle. My only complaint is the lack of rear bumper of course and I think the second seat could be made a little better.

When I buy my X2 I plan on buying a large kimpex box/seat for the ol lady to sit on. It will raise her up some and I will have storage. I would only be buying the X2 for riding 2up. I don't need the dump box and if I do that 1 time I can just remove the box. Good luck.

I've been critical of the tilting mechanism design because (for me) it's completely useless. (Although, I have found it convenient when refilling my transmission.)

The compromises made for this "limited use" feature was 1) an unacceptable passenger seat and 2) no easy way to attach a rear bumper. Unless you are aware of just how good this machine is in other ways, you would be inclined to check out the competition if you are interested in a "real" 2-up. (The seat design has sent a good many potential buyers to the Can Am Max dealer in my area.)

You can view my Motovan bumper and Kimpex seat at this site:

The seat can be removed in a few minutes should you need to use the box. Notice the bumper is mounted about 15 cm below the tail gate, so the dump can remain functional.

They did make a rear bumper for the ATP box which is almost the same as the X2 box. Big Buck's website shows a picture of it, but it say's discontinued. I saw one once and it mounts to the bottom of the box so it tilts with the box. I am not sure if the mounting holes would be in the same location as on the X2. You might be able to find a dealer with one lying around still, or maybe even e-bay if your lucky. I made my own bumper, and mounted it to the bottom of the box like the ATP one, using 3 of the existing mounting holes. It is a sturdy enough mount that I can lift the back of the quad with it. You can see it in my pics.

They DID make the rear seat better for 2007; I finally rode both a 2007 800 X2 Deluxe and a 2007 500 X2 Deluxe today and my oh my, are they sweet. The only thing I would change would be to make them available in red (yes, I know, both the standard edition and the limited edition are available in red, but I want the Deluxe), make a rear bumper available and change the rear receiver to two inch.

I'm going for the 500, which had great acceleration even with me (250 pounds) and a 220 pound passenger! Of course, when I buy one this summer, the 2008 model will have these changes.
