ranger oil
#2
im not too sure about the ranger set up but assuming it has a seprate oil tank like the sportsman 500 right. does it have too much oil in it. how is it overflowing w/ the cap screwed in.

Overflowing into the airbox? Check the oil level in accordance with what the manual says. If it's been overfilled, drain the excess. If the level is correct, make sure you warm up the engine sufficiently before getting on it too hard, especially in these cold temps.

Get it in and warm it up, I've heard of condensation freezing oil lines and ruining motors, I wouldnt run it till I figured it out , get it in somewhere and warm it up, check for milky oil,"water in oil. Let us know what you find.
