Default 700 vs 800

Is there really a big performance difference btween a 700 and 800? The stats on the machine's are almost identical, except for displacement. I am thinking about trading up and can get a 700 for 6700.00 and an 800 for 7400.00 Both are 07"s. I have ridden an 800 before but never a 700. Thank's.

I have a 05 800 and will be picking up my new 07 800 deluxe on sat. I have ridden both 700s and of course my 800, and the 800 seems to have alot more lowend. I guess it depends how you ride since i like as much power as i can get. I use to ride sport quads and dirt bikes alot. Are both models you are looking at non ebs or is the 800 a ebs model?

Is the 07 800 a delux or not? If its not a delux I dont think it will have the dual exhaust and twin header. Thus it will be identical to the 700 except for 77ccs. I know my o6 800 is alot faster than my 2002 700, but the 700 is a carb.

We mainly ride trails, with some mud, not deep, and stream and small river crossing's. I am not looking to go 70 mph, I just want to have good low end. I didn't check on the EBS, My dealer e-mailed me with the pricing.I have EBS on my 500, do you recommend having or not?

I would check into if it has ebs , the 07 700s are just standard models with no ebs you can get a standard 800 or a deluxe with ebs and adc ,it also comes with a winch.Yes i recommend at least ebs,it really helps on hills.

you must be getting a price for a standard 800 w/ that price which like the 07's 700& 800 neither one has ebs. you could get it as an accessory for added cost. if you have a bike w/ ebs, i myself think you will want it on the new one. im not 100% sure but i think the new 700's now have the 800's clutching which makes a big differnce in the old one. someone correct me if im wrong(most likely). anyway you look at it the 700 would be a big improvement on power over the 500. im like sdbowcrazy, i like the extra power and sound of the twin pipes.
