A little off the subject, but what type of helmet do you guys/gals wear. Street/snowmobile, open face/off road or full open face.
I have an old open face street helmet and I am freezing my face off. Since I live in North Idaho I was thinking that maybe the street/snowmobile would be better for year-round riding. Any input?
Thanks

Weetoots,

I use an HJC Snowmobile helmet for that exact reason. I also have a heated visor on it as it is full faced and tends to ice up.

Thanks, MUD4ME and 3TV. That will help. I don't understand this forum. About 50 people have read this post, but only you two have replied. Do the other not wear a helmet or figure it is a minor subject.
There are a lot of new people to this forum and maybe to shy to ask a "silly" question.
I have been riding "bikes" since 1960. I own a snowmobile but as you get older, you don't cope with the cold very well.

Come on guys and gals. Rally forth and help the newbies. Your opinion is a lot safer then a dealer just wanting to make a sale.
Thanks

The dog chewed up my nice warm full face street helmet. Right now I am using an open face with a plastic shield and a ski mask that covers my nose and lower face, it works pretty good, and keeps me warm. The ski mask is neopreme and velcroes around back of your neck. I use the shield because I wear glasses but the msk works well with goggles. I'll use that until next week, when I get my new Bieffe full face from Santa!

I wear the Bieffe full face. Still use the ski mask in the winter. Makes it a lot warmer.

What do your guys do to keep your visors from fogging up? I have a full faceed helmet that was pretty cheap and that is becoming a major prob for me riding in the cold. Any suggestions?

I have a motocross helmet, use goggles and just got the breathe deflector. I wear a mask and it keeps me nice and warm. The breathe deflector helps with all kinds of helmets, only about $10.

I wear a Bell MOTO 6, (moto cross style) all year round. In the winter I ride with the same set up and use a neoprene face mask made by "No Fog" these are the only way to go for keeping the gogles from fogging up. My helmet is a tool when out riding, I use it to knock branches and small trees out of the way when breaking trail. No seence worrying about the head when you have the "hammer dropped"
