Default Sportsman in the Dunes

Hey: Guys

I am taking my girlfriend to St. A's in June this year. She rides a 2006 Polaris Sportsman 500. Will she be able to get around in the sand ??
Should I get her a set of paddles for the rear ??
What size are the rear tires and what size of paddles should I get ??

I Just want her to have a good time and be able to keep up. The rest of the group will be ridding sport bikes.

Thanks for your Help

I went to Silver Lakes sand dunes in Michigan this past summer with my rincon650 and ITP Mud Lite xl tires. I got around just find and could climb anything that the sport quads would climb but slower. My top speed in the sand was only about 50 whil normally it would do 65 on the road. The sand sucks up a ton of power but still able to get around pretty well. I had a blast but it would have been more fun on a sport quad. I think she will be just fine. There were alot of ute quads there from stock to modded. My Mudlites were a little too agressive for the sand because they wanted to dig. Stock tires should float easier int he sand.

Ya, she wont have much problems at all. We were in st. anthony last june and my nephew rode my sp700 out there. Had to get a run at the hills but made it up most of em except the real big ones. The sportsman was a blast to jump, it was like riding an easy boy chair and always landed perfect. We have reservations at sandhills for june 11-16th . Where are you going to stay at and what dates, might be able to hookup and ride.

There is only one or 2 companies that make paddles in a 25" tire.

My SP with stock tires won't do much in the sand if the incline gets too steep.
