2002 Scrambler 400

I have broken the pull start cord on my scrambler. I have the service manual but it does not seem to cover how to replace this peice. Can anyone give me run down how to do this. I am mechanically inclined, but would it be worth my while to take it into the shop?

Its up to you but on the back side of the reel there is the return spring and if the reel doesn't come out good the spring will come with it and it isn't fun winding the springs back up.
