Default Multiple Problems with 500HO

I have a 2004.5 SP 500HO with about 1700 hard miles and latley it hasn't been running to well. The first thing is about 50% of the time it will want to creep forward when it is in gear (forward or reverse) the next thing is when you come to a stop with it, it won't stay running. It runs strong when you are moving but as soon as you come to a stop it will die. Then when you start it back up it will start to creep (fairly fast)

The only things I have tried so far are inspecting the belt which I ended up replacing anyway and the belt housing area seemed to be really clean and in good shape (from just looking at it).

Any suggestiongs are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ty

Definitely sounds like clutch issues.
If you have the service manual check out the section on clutch alignment.

Yep, you have the dreaded "clutch creep." Take it to your dealer to have the clutches realigned (at the least) or it could be a cracked sheave (at worst). From your description I'm guessing it won't run at idle because of the clutch problem.

Ill try to take a look at it ASAP is the alignment something that is hard to do or is it something I should just take to the dealer and not worry about myself.

It's easy enough if you have the alignment tool, that's why I suggested you take it to the dealer. It's adjusted by adding shims behind the clutch.

I had the same problem with my 02 500 HO. It turned out to be the EBS bushing on the drive clutch. It was binding and would not let the belt spin on the shaft. Once you start to go the belt gets picked up off the idler wheel and moves onto the clutch sheaves. Mine was making a squeeling noise too. Took the clutch apart, replaced the bushings and viola has worked great ever since!!

the ebs bushing is gone, causing it to creep. not a uncommon thing.
