06 Predator Mods

Default 06 Predator Mods

After a little over a year w/my 06 Predator Limited Edition I think I'm ready to throw a little money at it. Not that I'm unhappy w/the power, just want a little more. So, after thinking my first change would be the CDI box I'm hearing the stock box on the 05 and 06's isnt all that bad and money would be better spent elsewhere, I am considering -

a Rath headpipe to go along w/the Pure Polaris canister it came with
Twin Air clamp on
sprocket change
a trip to Nicholas for the carb

I ride almost exclusively dunes - Pismo, Sand Mountain, Coos Bay, and recently GLAMIS! (cool). I would like to try and avoid modifying it to the point of being tempermental, and am a little concerned about having to mess w/the jets w/changes in elevation.

So, anybody w/a similar set-up care to comment on their experience, and/or anything anybody might do different?

thats exactly what id do, cept id use K&N both are good. after that its into the motor with a bbk and maybe some nos

Default 06 Predator Mods

Thanks. Anybody w/experience w/the Nicholas Carb Mod - would I have to mess w/the jets or carb settings when changing elevations w/that mod, say from Pismo to Sand Mtn? As you can see I really dont want to have mess with it. Or is the Nicholas mod pretty much maintance free?

Also, is the Twin Air "clamp on" the "Power Flow Kit" part # 156141c? If anybody knows.

I read the Rath headpipe was offered in SS & ceramic but I only see SS offered on rath. Any recs & is the heat shield recommended?

The radiator shrouds and steering stablizer also caught my eye - any experiences w/those?

Lastly, recommendations on my sprocket change? - mainly sand dune climbing stuff- 13/38?
