sometimes you just have to do what you have to do... If you were stuck in the middle of the jungle with a torn cv boot, what would ya do? I'd just make sure it has plenty of grease and stay out of mud/water, and if you have to replace it later, that will be the cost of riding tomorrow. Maybe some plastic and string can bandaid it?

Two zip ties, and some rubber, cover the old boot. Duck tape the torn boot would help as well.

I've heard of people using saran wrap to patch a boot.

it doesnt matter if you put more grease in it or not if water gets in there, your going to be pelacing the cv. at least i had to after a 35 miles ride. unless you can seal it tight some dirt or water will get in. depemds on what you do to cover it and whether you wanto to risk it for the ride. good luck.

if its a little rip i have used black rtv sealer.. worked for a little while...but like sten said you will most likely end up replaceing the cv if you ride it,, grease the hell out of it...........

Would you rather spend $30 or $300? Go on the ride spend 300 stay home and fix it spend 30

you can get a cv re-build ket real cheap or buy just the cv 100.00 max... still no sense trashing a perfectly good cv just cause you need to tear it apart and put a boot on 1/2 hr is all it takes...
