Default What Do you look for when buying a used quad?

OK I need a little help, my dad thinks i should sell my current quad for like 2,500 or maybe a lil more or less.. Its a 2001 Polaris Traiblazer with some extras..

I was just wondering what everyone looks for when there buying a new quad? Because im trying to get the most money i can,so if i have to put 100$ into it,it would be worth it,

But like what are the first things people look at when there buying a quad? What makes them loose intreset in a used quad? what makes them gain interest in buying a quad?

I think my quad for a 2001 looks pretty dam good ,compared to others i have seen..

I was going to buy some acc. to make people want to buy my quad more, like new handle bars, hand gaurds, new battery, new grips, new shock covers, red chain?

Does everyone thing if i bought the above parts people would want my quad more?

or should i just buy like a battery and new shock covers, and then list it on ebay or sumtin to see if anyone bites?

Please help i really want that Blue/Yellow Scrambler 400 4 by 4 lol

2500.00 is too much. average retail for a clean, no damage, looks good runs good good tires is only $1455.00 acording to my book. however different market areas bring different prices. trade value on your bike is $955.00 good luck on your sale

this is only my 2 cents, but its stupid to put any more money into soemthing your going to sell to make moe money. most of the time people dont pay for the acces. that are on the bike as much as they pay attention to the condtion(broken plastic, scratched up,wore out parts). on your bike the chain and sprockets, the swing arm bushings the over all power and startablity of the bike . we sold our 99' for 1500. a yr ago .good luck .

Welll thats the thing book value is really low IMO , i just think i could get more for it..

So basically, if plastic is in good, engine runs and starts good i could get a good enough amount? I just want to get enough money for a scrambler lol

The low retail is $1075.00 and the average retail is $1410.00, you can ask whatever you would like for your quad its just a question if someonew would pay for it. I picked up a 03' trailblazer that was brand new, still shiny cleaned tires, no dirt whatsoever. This thing was in a heated garage since purchased and ridden in a grass field, twice according to the original owner, it needed a battery. I picked it up last August for $1500.00. Good luck and let us know how you did....... If your looking for pricing go to NADA.com and look under motorcycles/atvs,.

When did the value decrease incredibly? i remember last year when i was looking for a trailblazer they were all really expensive like 2300-2700, but now the most i could get is 1500 ? i wont even be able to afford half of a scrambler lol...

This sucks i guess im keeping my quad, i though i could easily get like 2400 for it? guess not

I dont think the value decreased considerably its called depreciation an 01' quad is 6 years old at this time, what was the original price that was paid for this quad? I'm not asking for the list but the actual price without tax added. Dont forget people can ask anything they want for a quad maybe you'll get it then again maybe not!

I did a quick check on ebay, for 2001 polaris trailblazer, there were 2 in the completed auctions section the first maxed out at 1301.00 and didn't meet reserve the second maxed at 2200.00 and didn't meet reserve (this model was customized) check them out. I don't wish to discourage you, I'm just trying to hit you with a possible reality that you might not get as much as expected.
