On a added note the wrikle polaris one sounded alot noiser than the warns that I had before. This replacement one sounds quieter. Maybe I got the Friday evening produced one, if the Chinese have a Friday evening.

Quote from Polaris page on the Polaris winch "Designed, engineered and tested by Polaris to ensure high standards of quality" (snicker snicker) and it is made in China. I still have my box in the shed.
--Stendori: Had my Virago a few years but looking to get away from the noisey V-twin, figger come spring will be out doing some browsing. Need something comfy.

I have the Polaris (not Warn for Polaris) 2500, and it has an intermittent operation problem. About 50% of the time it clicks but doesn't put power on the motor. One mechanic I talked to (without any interest in my problem) said that almost all of them are doing the same thing. If you want it to go down you have to bump it up, then down. Seems to me that the relay is either bad or ?? I just bought one of the "Warn for Polaris" kits for my other machine, the relay looks identical to the Polaris kit.
Has anyone else ran into this problem?

I have the same winch as you Indyguy and had the same problem. I took it back to the dealer and they fixed it right away. If I remember right, this was back in December, I believe he said it was the contactor plate that was shot. It works good now, I've used it quite a bit this winter as the lift on my snow blade.

Warn and Ramsey are the best winches you can buy, alot of the manual PTO winches found on WW2 utility trucks and jeeps were built by Ramsey, they've been around for a long time.
