Default Questions about new X2

I picked up my 07 X2 500 Deluxe on Friday and have several questions: Are the following things normal?

Taillights stay on when key is on, only go off when key turned off.

Stoplights work when hand brake applied but not foot brake.

Hard to shift.

Whole bike vibrates.

Thanks.

I can only report on the '06 X2, Yes I think tail lights come on with key.
Don't know about brake light, never checked it, have to ask the guy behind me
Probably shifting a bit tight when new, but gets better with time, be sure to stop completely when shifting gears.
I do not have any vibration problems.
Great machine, you may want to have the dealer check out vibrations.

Default Questions about new X2

Congrats on the new ride, GP. I have one on the way as well. 07 500 EFI Stone Beige limited edition. My last 2 machines have been twin cylinders, so I am concerned about things like this vibration you're talking about. Does it vibrate when it's just sitting there running, or is it at a particular speed? How is the power from the 500? I assume the clutch seems to be engaging normally? Also, anyone else who has the X2, have there been any other issues? Overheating? Torn axle boots? I know my 05 700 went through a few boots, which was different than my 04 600 that never had that problem. How are the stock tires? I think I'm going to order a set of 26" XTRs to put right on as I do intend to put it in the mud.

Thanks.

SS, the dealer says vibration is normal on a 500. It's constant, but seems to be getting better. Lots of power, plenty for me. Clutch is fine.

Re the XTR's, I asked dealer about them and he said no problem on the rear, but the fronts are 9" wide (as opposed to the stock 8") and they will rub unless you buy some new wheels that are offset. I decided it wasn't worth it to me.

Hmm, I have 26" x 9" Bighorns on my 700, but they are on aftermarket (Delta?) steel wheels. Maybe they have more offset? I'll look into that. The new X2 will have the factory aluminum wheels, which I would imagine have the same offset as the factory steel wheels. If worse comes to worse, I'll add a couple of spacers, no big deal..

My '04 ATP acts the same way with regards to the light setup.
