has anybody had trouble with there hawkeye running to hot after going though the mud or it shuting off for the same reason.
it seemed to me it was getting to hot and would stay running once you tryed to put a load ie; mudding.
i checked with my dealer and he said i had the right jets in the carb according to the month of my bike.
2006 hawkeye ,2000lb winch , front bush guard, and 25 mudlite el's

Seen no problems here but with all the covers on this thing, I imagine it needed to be moving or it will get hot. Does it start right back up or what? There are a few post about the fuel tank vent being pinched causing it to die.

no i did not check the the tank vent i will check it tomorrow guys but i washed it off with a preasure cleaner and had no problems.
the only thing i thing i can think is i did install a k&n filter on it but did not make much of a diff to me .
i dont know what the running temp should be i live in fl and the as of right now is 88 in the daytime.

Being an air cooled engine, lots of dried mud on the engine, would be like wrapping it up in a blanket. Also, with all the plastic work on these things, it needs to maintain some speed to get good air flow.
