Whats Faster & more Powerful?
#1
Polaris 700, King Quad 700, Grizzly 660? I am debating getting rid of my 03 700 for one of those bikes before I get any Polaris AWD issues. It seems like they all have or will get the AWD problems. I like the Polaris but I want something reliable. I know they all have some issues but I haven't heard of the KQ or the Grizzly with AWD or any major problems. Has Anyone?

The 700 Grizzly is pretty much brand new, so, problemwise it's an unknown. The speed was described as "linear" without a real hit at the bottom end like the 660 had by a few atv magazines I read. They all liked it. The King Quad 700 hasn't had too much written about it that I have seen other than some front end diving when going downhill. Good power, but not quite up to the Polaris 700 from what I read. Both the Polaris and the Grizzly got great reviews for comfortable riding with the Grizz getting good points with the power stearing and the Polaris getting points for the storage boxes. All have similar ground clearance. I hope this helps you out. You might want to do a search in the Yamaha and Suzuki forums to see what problems they have had.

I wouldn't get the Grizzly 700(2 new) I was refering to the 660. I love the Polaris ride but I don't like the AWD headaches that it seems like everyone has or will get eventually. I like the Brute 750 as well. It's noticeably faster than my 700. A friend has one with 27' tires and he can beat me by a decent amount. I don't know what to do. I don't use it that much. It does plow nice also. The AWD is definatley jerky, HANG ON TIGHT!!!

For what it's worth, my friends and I all have Polaris' 500s, 1 X2, 3 Sportsman 500s, 1 ATP, and I used to have an Xplorer. No one has had any problems with the AWD. Some are older, some newer.

Good, It's nice to hear some positives. All I hear is negative problems with the AWD system. How often do u changed your fluids. Mine have been done alot. I always fill them up to the bottom of the fill also. Not the 5 oz. like the manual says.(for the front & rear diff)(more like 8-10 oz.)

AWD, troubles? I have a 2000 model with 4000 miles, never had awd troubles. In fact none of my buddies with polaris have had any, that I can think of.

the front end problems are talked about alot, but in really on how many sportsmans are sold there few and far inbetween. i think alot of these problems could have been avoided. i would say a good put of the issues were the riders fault in the breakage. but its not everybody that does. lack of maintance, and not mistreating it wouldnt help it any. oh and my friends 05' b force had front end issues as well. just my opinion.

They all have there pluses and minuses. In the end its the best deal from the best dealer. I would also check out the availablity of aftermarket parts for later on. I know Aaen, Ritter and Hotseats does Polaris and maybe even Yamaha, don't know if much is there for the King Quad.

FWIW I have an 04 ATP with an AWD problem but it's entirely my fault. I put the wrong kind of fluid in the front and it buggered up the armature plate. So when you are doing the maintnence be careful with the front end. The owners manual was a little vauge and I was tired when I did the fluid swap and viola I have to pull the front end down and replace the armature plate now.
