A few efi problems in the past but you should be ok with it. The 500 is a great machine. It will do anything you would ever need to do with it.

Best all around machine Polaris ever built, they should have bugs worked out of the efi, good choice.

lol are you talking every day mud, or insane up to the handle bar mud? It does really good even with stock tires. You will enjoy it. Just remeber, its MUCH heavier than the Hawkeye. My 2wd Hawkeye will get in some mud thats not that deep, but real slick, and go right through. I will be on my 500 Sportsman, messing around and have to use 4wd. My dad gets a kick out of that sometimes.

I have a 06 500 EFI and so far if I get stuck everybody is stuck but usually before that happens I have winched them out and we have moved on. I have the PXT tires and I feel like that is what causes me the occasional problem not lack of power.....I think you will be pleased, I am

I forgot to mention, a guy I ride with had a AC 500 he put 589's on. His sole purpose for the day was to burry it. We found one hole, he went through and got stuck at the half way point. I followed him in with my 500 HO with PXT's and made it over 90% of the way through the hole after he got it stuck 3 times, and wallowing the hole out. I still tease him about it.

tires are a big part of traction, but the rider is a major factor as well. my pxt's on the sp450 do good w/ the wife driving, but if i get on it i can go alot further or get out because im alot more experinced then her.(not to mention nuts lol). the 500 has been around for ever, and is one of the best ones ever sold anywhere.

I traded my BF 750 in for a 2007 Sportsman 500 EFI Delux. Best move I have made in a long time. Plenty of power and I love the ADC on the Delux models. I have had it for 3 months and have put over 700 mile on it. Not one hint of a problem.
