Default Trans clunking update

Back with 07 500 efi le from dealer with some minor warranty issue'e taken care of. Dealer said that the clunking noise that I hear is normal. It's the normal lash I guess in the transaxle. I don't like it, though it does not do it all the time. I ride with 4 other POL and they don't make a sound. I had it noted on the invoice so when it's out of warranty next month and my trans blow's, I may have some leg's to stand on.

Thank's for the positive feedback Sten. I know from all the threads that you have posted that you seem to have alot of experience with Polaris. It's great to have a forum like this so we, inexperienced ATV owner's can find real world people with straight up answer's.

its more noise form the the drive train form getting on and off the throttle. say you were to have it in gear w/ it off and you push it back in forth until it has restistance. that would be the lash your feeling.

do you mean does it go away completely? no it doesnt but since they all do it not to worry. dealer will say the same thing if you ask them or go talk to them for a peace of mind.

Yea, my cuz who just bought an 07' Sportsman 700, is experiencing alot of
clunking noises. I told him it was normal and mine does it too. I haven't NOTED
any patterns yet though, and I haven't noticed it as much as my cousin's 700.
Maybe certain models are worse than others. Will it lighten up after the "break-in
period"?

My 07 700 has 400 miles on it. The noise hasn't gotten any better or worse. I think I would be concerned if I didn't here it anymore. The 600 I had prior to this one did the same. Usually does at low throttle and descending. Anyone up for the age old clutch question?
