800 spurtering

Default 800 spurtering

I have a 2004 800 was riding today and it started spurtering rpm's around 750 to 800 if I take the gas cap off it goes back up to 1050 1100?? was riding in water and mud?? help??

Maybe the vent for the fuel tank is plugged. See if you can blow it out with compressed air. I'm not 100% sure where it is but I think it has a small plastic tube that goes into the headlight pod. Check to see if its full of mud or kinked anywhere. Hope this helps

I did take the clear hose out of the head light pod and blew through it got air back into the tank ?? take the gas gap off rpms go to 1140

i would check what scrammy said. it would make perfect sence that the vent lines are somehow plugged.

if it runs fine w/ the cap off then it has a pressure problem.
