Both are good machines I have the 325 for my son so far im pretty happy with it. The performance is lacking though not a smoker for a 325. Steering is light and goes everywhere my Sportsman500 does. Its not a wheelie king for sure but certainly fast enough for a 12 year old (oops)hope the police dont see this lol.Enough warning stickers on it about that. I hear the Trailblazer might be a bit quicker and more snappy. I picked it because I like 4 strokes but am wondering is the 250 would be quicker. Had it a year no problems to speak of, except dont like the way the chain is wearing. My wife rides it too but prefers my Sportsman because of the plusher ride. Im also finding out about the genII-genIII thing seems that the gen II has less available for it, must be an older frame style. Blazer definitly has more goodies in the aftermarket world. Hope this helps your decision.

Since you allready own a jap bike, don't count out the prarie 300 2wd. It should cost around the same as the other two, but has shaft drive.
There is at least 6 of these on my deer lease, And I have not heard any of their owners complaining about there ride.

I bought a 2000 Trailboss for my wife in May of this year, and she liked it until my best friends wife got a 2000 Trailblazer. She gets smoked on the 325. It is truly a sloth. Top speed is about 35 mph and as such, it is a complete gas hog, as she will be riding it with her thumb to the bar the entire ride.
Tuesday after Christmas, my wife will be getting a 2001 Trailblazer. I traded in the Trailboss, lost 700 bucks, but she is going to be much happier.
If you are worried about your wife being an novice rider, don't worry, the woman we put on the Trailblazer in May is tearin up the trails now. Besides you save a couple of hundred bucks on the Trailblazer, and as her skills improve, the bike is easy to upgrade, I guess there is even a 300 kit out there for it.
Hope this helps.
Merry Christmas

Is the fuel comsumption higher on the 325 4 stroke engine than on the 250 2 stroke? I always thought 2 strokes gave you a little less mileage per horse power. Ive been considering the trail boss but now looking at the trail blazer a little more.

Yes, the 325 uses a heck of a lot more fuel. They both have the same size fuel cell, but if my wife rides with us, she needs to ride wide open all the time to keep up, and the woman on the Trailblazer can run at half to three quarters throttle, typically when we get back to camp, my wife is on fumes, and the Trailblazer is still got better than a quarter tank in it.
Seriously, the trailboss is a utility machine, it's got a trailer hitch for cryin out loud. If you are worried about wheel spin on hill climbs, and don't care about being the slowest quad in the line, get the trailboss, if you like roosting, going faster than35mph on the flat stretches, and having enough fuel to ride all day, get the Trailblazer. (I'm trading my wifes in on December 26th, and taking delivery of a 2001 Trailblazer)

If your trail boss will only go 35 and is eating gas, then something is wrong with it. My wifes trail boss will do 45-48 mph (depending on tire inflation) and uses no more gas than any other machine. I will admit, this machine is not a drag machine, but I can easily keep up with my buddies on their Scrambler and Warrior on the tighter trails. Its only in the long straight aways that I get left a little behind. I wouldn't think that the trail blazer would provide enough power difference to justify losing money on the trade in, but its your money. If I was to trade it in on a new one for more power, I would step up to the Scrambler.
