Default FINALLY test fitted the 800 pipe.

I finally got around to putting the pipe on to verify it won't rub. Some of the early ones rubbed, this one was supposed to be the fixed version. It is, no rubbing anywhere. So, off it came and packaged it up will be sent to get ceramic coated tomorrow! I am going with flat black, I would love to get the silver, but that wouldn't go well with the military theme! I couldn't believe the difference in the pirmary tube sizes. Looking at each was hard to tell much, but I put my finger in each one, as a reference and WOW! I took pics to the difference. Here is the 700 header. Here is the 800 header. Here are both, but the difference is much harder to see.

OK, I sent the pipe out yesterday. He'll have it Monday and I should have it back by Friday. I want to thank you guys for proding me to get this done! What do you guys think about the primary tube size difference? I had no idea it was that much larger. I maybe would have done this WAY earlier

How does the diameter of the exhaust port compare to the new header? Doc

looks like a good 1/4 to 3/8 bigger. i'll bet it has alot back pressure now and free flows better. and we all know they means power being held back.

My friend has an 05 sp700. He just put on a new 800 header pipe, rejetted and K&N filter. Before the mod he could pull away from my rincon but after the mod I can catch him and pass him in about 150yrds. He has gained low end but lost alot of top end. What do you think the problem is. I checked the plug and its a perfect color.

I would go at a lean condition, and or has the power band moved out of the clutching. Doc

I will actually measure them both when I get the 800 pipe back! I don't know what to tell you about your buddys situation, like already mentioned, maybe the clutch and powerband are each others enemies. I just want bottom end. I want to be able to turn those big mudders in the thickest stuff that I can find. We usually only see 30 mph TOPS!!!!!!!!! There is no way I can keep up with the 700 Grizz or 700 King Quad anyway, so I figure I'll slide the scale to get maximum bottom end! That's my theory and I am stickin' to it!
