back firing from letting off the throttle is more from a rich condtion where as when you throttle up and it back fires is from a lean condtion. it is hard to tell. i would say since you have a free flowing k&n and now a free flowing exhaust, that you have to put a bigger main in for the extra flow.

I got a 160 today, I wanted a 162.5 also, but he was out of them! I will try it tomorrow and see.

The 07 800's ARE different shifter rod. They got rid of the rod ends and went with those things that are used to connect a rod to a latch like on the car doors. You put the rod through the hole, then spin the connector and it locks itself to the rod. They did this to overcome the bent rod whick will cause a rod end setup to sag, like mentioned earlier. I will heat and bend my shifter first to try that!

Instigator: This whole rejetting thing was quite the puzzle to me until I read an article published in Dirt Wheels back in Apr 02. It relly helped me understand what I was doing with my Expedition. Found a copy...Hot Horse Power Tips...By Greg Hall

Also I remember when I was bending my shifter Rod (no problem cold in a vice) I put a larger nylon washer behind the front Rod eye to limit rotation. It really helped prevent the droop. Had top do a little testing to make sure it wasn't binding but worked for me. May help...

Well I tryed a 160 main jet. This thing is still popping and cracking like fireworks. So, I stuffed a rag into the intake and cut down the airflow, then it ran perfectly. So tomorrow, I will try a 162.5 and a 165 if they have both. I was amazed at the suction this things has. At first I stuck the rag in pretty tight, but was only blocking about 1/2 the snorkle. It actually sucked the the rest of the rag in too, then it sucked it all the way down the snorkle neck. (wasn't worried, filter was on)

Oh yeah, BTW, this pipe is the bomb, I was running the engine pretty hard(in park), exhaust pipe temps were above 450 at the cylinder. "EXACTLY" 1/2 hour later the pipe was at 48.6 degrees! I have never checked the cooling capacity of stock, but I don't think it was this good!

Slight bend of the black shifter arm and flipped the front bolt. All is well, in the linkage dept.!

Hey Instigater, I did this mod to my 700 along with snorkel and K@N air filter , All I did was raise the needle in the carb one notch , runs good. Didnt do any jetting, but I"m at higher elevation, 5000 to 9000 feet.

Yeah, I am only at about 1,000 ft. I tryed that first, but no good. The clip was on the 4th notch from the top(factory settings), then I went to the 5th(bottom), no noticible difference. I probably couldn't even keep it running good enough to load the quad in the trailer. I'll get-r tomorrow. She will be running quit swell! I still can't get over how fast the pipe cools down! You guys with the "JET-HOT" brand coatings, what mil is your coating? Mine is 1 mil, my buddy said you shouldn't go over 2, that will hold the heat in! I was surprised at the thinness of the coating. I didn't know what to expect, afterall, this is my first coated pipe.

my carb is like this.. main jet is 162.5, pilot is a 50, clip in #4 slot (from top). and I leaned the mix about 1/8 turn I also have a K&n filter, 800 intake , white Bros muffler. If you just bolt the muffler on to the 800 header the header WILL crack (I know of others it has happened to also mine did it 2x) Either bend the pipe or drop the muffler. good luck
