Default sp 500 rev limiter

looking for help i have a 99 sp 500 it was running perfect then i went in reverse and i believe the rev limiter kicked in the problem is now no matter what it wont disengage when in high gear from idle the machine accelerates good but then it cuts out can i bypass the limiter to test it i hate to fork out 270 bucks for a new speedo if thats not the problem

That sounds like a good possibility. I'm trying to remember how the system on a 99 model works. I'll look at my book and try to get back with you. I think you can bypass the switch because quadovator sell a kit for it.

check the switch on the trans to make sure the connections are all good and maybe the contacts.

if i have it right there is a rev limiter built into the speedo i thought that would be the problem but a trans switch is surely much cheaper thanks for the help this is frustrating this machine is a money pit. lol
