Just picked it up this weekend. It shows all the 4x4's available for 2001. It states that the Scrambler400 4x4 is still made??? Get your facts strait!

The best one, quoted from the magazine: "Polaris Xplorer 400...The powerplant's sound and strength give this machine a sporty "feel," but it's far from being fast."

What the heck is that? Do the research!

The Scrambler 500 4x4 is still available. The one that started the Scrambler family, the mighty 400, is the only discontinued Scrambler. There is not the 500 4x4, 500 2x4, 400 2x4 (old sport), 90 & I think 50.

Xplor I've learned not to listen to the magazines, they print faulty information the only reason I read them is for the product reviews and to see whats new to the atv world.

Your right about they need to do some research, the scrambler 400 4x4 is off the polaris production line and the explorer engine is the same as the scrambler/sport, you can't tell me that it is'nt a fast machine if the scrambler can do 70mph.

Yes, the Scrambler 500 4x4 is still in production, and likely to be for some time.

Dirt Wheels did a review on the Scrambler 500 2x4 about 2 months ago. I’m sorry I don’t have it here to state the issue or print an exact quote of the offending sentence, but it basically said the only difference between the Scrambler 500 2x4 and the Sportsman 500 was the absence of front wheel drive. HUH?!?! Jeez, what a joke. They’re getting close to comic book status.

They have never driven a 400 Xplorer if they consider it slow. Magazines are whacked. an Xplorer can kick my SP 500's butt in a race. hey must do 65, they go by me , and i can get 60 out of mine.

I DONT read the magazines at all anymore. There is so much bull going on in todays ATV magazines.Instead,I come to the Forums if I need to seek out help.Heck,we find out things in the Forums before the dealers even know!

I recall when the Ruby was coming out,my Honda dealer knew NOTHING about it.I told my Polaris dealer about the HO Sportsman before he knew about it.

I've just read far to much bull in the books to beleive many things they say as being credible,
Bill

whats scary is that the people that right the articles in the magazines sposedly have college degrees, some in journalism. i dont know who proof-reads the articles, but that person needs to be fired.
some of the mistakes are so obvious that i think my grandma could have written it better and she has never been on a quad.
