Default Bad speedpmeter No 4x4.

There was a thread from trailblazer on 4/05 he found a way to make the 4x4 work without the speedometer working . He said he disconnected the brown/white wire that goes to each hub then grounded the hub side of that wire. He said the 4x4 even worked with the awd switch. I am not sure what he meant by the hub side of the wire, any info on how i can make my 4x4 work without buying a 230$ speedometer would be a great help. My wheeler is a 1999 sprtsman 500.

Thank's
Tim.

i dont think trailblazers ever had speedo's. do a search on speedo's and there has been a few post on how by pass them i do beleave. i think it depends on the yr of the bike as well. just a guess though.

I am sorry, my wheeler is a 1999 sportman 500. The thread i was looking at was written by hallpass not trailblazer. My mistake I did a search on the site for speedometers and did not come up with any thing.

Thanks,
Tim.

I have got my 4x4 to work. The hubs will be hot when the awd switch is on, the hub has to be grounded on one side, you have to take the brown/white wire from each hub that runs up under the head light into a plug with a grey wire and disconnect the brown/white wire frome both plugs and ground them to the frame. When i did this the four wheel drive worked like it should with the switch, even though the speedometer does not work.

Thank's,
Tim.
