Default Hot Grips

This was my issue last winter. Still need to fix it.
The dealer installed Hot Grips on my 07 Polaris SP 800 X2. The grips say Scott so I'm guessing they are possibly their brand. Not sure. My issue is they just don't work. I stuck my pinky in the end of the handle bar and it was luke warm at best. I could never fell any heat even without a glove through the grip. I did check the wires coming from the grips and it appears to be voltage 6 volts on low and 12 on high. The quad is at my cabin 200 miles from home and was wondering if there's any advice prior to hauling it back to the dealer.
Thanks.

Default Hot Grips

just a guess, but if your getting the proper voltage sounds like the relays or resitors are working so maybe the heat element it self has failed.
