Default Where's it going?

I'm new to this quad stuff so forgive me for not knowing but my 07 800 X2 has a clear line about 3/16 or 1/4 running up directly in front of the gas tank. We noticed some clear fluid I'm assuming gas trickling through the hose and I belive it was going up. Is this fuel? And where the heck is it going? I do not smell any gas so I don't think any fuel is leaking.
I read the post on the 07 SP fire and was wondering whats going on here. Thanks

the tube you see is the vent tube to the gas tank & it is normal to see some gas bubbles , it goes into the pod & down into the steering stem. most of the time it just evaporates before it makes it through the stem ,if it is over filled (to the top lip ) you will notice it dripping on the ground. the only problem i've heard of with fire hazzards is the plastics melting on the right side by the exaust

Guys,

A tip when filling the tank to avoid overflowing through the tube.

Don't fill it to the rim.

The fuel in the storage tanks at the station is cool since it is below ground. If you fill up your ATV to the brim and then park it (especially in the sun) the fuel in your tank will heat up and expand. What your tank can't hold will come out the overflow tube.

I personally hate the smell of gasoline, especially if it's on my hands or if I have to clean it up. Good luck guys!

On that note, is there ever any reason to "PINCH" the
gas vent line? Storage? Storage during cold or hot seasons?
Transporting it on a trailer? Extreme Mudd'in or moreover, over
the seat WATER bogging?

Any of those situations ever call for pinching the vent line, or always
have it open for gas fumes?

Yep, gas tank vent line. Mine leaked down onto a paved surface after filling up and parking at a Burger King. Almost gave me a heart attack. It came out by the front diff and I had visions of dollars running quickly away from me. The front diff was fine. It was overflowing gas.
