The 500 will be the same weight as the 800renegade, which sux.</end quote></div>
It seems the 500 should be be at least a little lighter, unless the 500 is
a twin also. anyone know what kind of money there talking on the 500?

I have a friend that works for BRP. He installed the 800 race program in his bike for about 20 minutes, and then he had to take it out. Picture high range, sit down wheelies at 40mph on pavement LOL It was incredible!!! It was imposible to keep the front end down at any speed!! But not very practical for trail riding, or living to see 30 LOL
I think I want to stick to slow mud and technical riding, and living to see 30

You actually did yourself a favor by not riding it. I get the itch for something new every 2 years or so, and recently have been getting it again. I'm looking into 2 seaters at the moment. Also looking to buy a Kawasaki Ninja 250 for buzzing around town and to work. $2999.00 it goes 0-60 in 5.7 sec. ,1/4 time 14.6 @ 88 mph, 107 top speed, and 60-70 mpg. I gotta have one. Brian

June Atv rider magazine has the top speed listed as 63.27 mph. I don,t think that they would lie about that. The 525 Outlaw kicks it's butt in every catagory. And what is up with the 3 1/2 wheel drive that only engages after wheel spin. A guy posted a video on Visco lock where a polaris AWD went thru a tricky off camber mudhole with no problem and the Can am with Visco lock was down right DANGEROUS as the front wheel that had traction would finally spin and just about roll the atv over. I will stick with my 01 scrammy 500 that I only paid 3100 for it. I have raced CR500's for over 15 years and feel comfortamle going fast on it. I don't really feel safe on an overweight atv going 60 + mph. Even atv magazines are saying that the newer atvs are over powered for their limited handling ability at speed. I am new to the atv scene and am very happy with my scrammy. I have read posts about scrammy's doin 63 mph. I just bougt a GPS and will let you guys know how fast it really goes. I have listened to so many people say how fast thier bike or quad goes. It is funny when hear guys bragging that thier 80's will do 80 + mph. My cr500 will only do 90 on the hard pack dirt. It is not about the speed but the quality of the ride.</end quote></div>
Amen bro....
I have ridden a 650 lb sportsman 700 to its fullest potential and broken something every time. These large bore utes will never hold up because of the weight they carry. IMO: you will constantly be finding the weakest point and replacing it.
