NEED HELP ASAP!
#1
Alright so i got stuck in mud up to the floor boards last weekend and ever since then my 99 magnum 500 has run like crap. There is grinding noise either coming from the brakes or the engine, it bogs out when i push the throttle more than 1/2, and will not go over 35mph. I have changed the fuel filter, spark plug and air filter and nothing seems to be working. If anyone has any advice let me know...thanks!!!

i have a new 05 700 twin and it did the same thing (without the grinding). the cure was the foam just above the air filter intake snorkel on the gas tank had slid down slightly and was restricting air flow. push your finger above the intake and push the foam up and see if that helps. good luck!!!

If that doesn't do it , check to see if one of the shorkel's is loose or came loose when you got stuck in the mudhold ; if one of shorkel's came loose it could have gooten mud inside the belt/clutch housing causing the noise ! And if the air intake was loose mud could've gooten into the air box intake , best way to tell is remove the cover where the belt and clutch is and check it out ! willieebee

Clean the air filter and airbox. Then pull the clutch cover and check for belt wear, secondary clutch problems.Clean it good all over.
